As the calendar flips for most of us to 2025, I find myself as well as clients and students reflecting a bit deeper on living in alignment with our Center Within.

Living intentionally requires us to make a bit of time and space to discern what is working well and not so well. Last month I led a workshop in my New World Women organization on discernment. We discussed ways we know and feel our Expanding YES and Contracting NO as we make choices that support living our most empowered authentic life.

Here are a few questions to ponder as you enter in January 2025

  • What is an important decision you are making?

Invite information to come through your dreams, how the choices feel in your body, intuition, and synchronicity.

  • Do your choices feel attached to fear and tightness or love and flow?

Be clear that your choices are for the highest good for all involved. Be specific about your intention, and open to magical happenings to support HOW your clear vision manifests.

  • Is it time to say no, move on, or complete something in your life?

Saying no leaves space for the unknown to arise in alignment with your intentions. Move on when a previous yes becomes a no.

  • Do you utilize tools for discernment?

You are invited to play with a pendulum, muscle testing, and divination cards to reveal new perspectives, inspire ideas, affirm your hunches, and self-reflect.

  • What gets in the way of your discernment?

Notice if you are engaged in overthinking, fear, negative self-talk, limiting beliefs, ruminating, confusion, worry, self-doubt, condition, or programming.

  • How do you learn to trust your inner wisdom?

Practice. Imagine your favorite person, place, or memory. Imagine with all 5 senses. Where do you feel it in your body? What emotions arise? Learn how you perceive subtle energy and information.

Bring your question, intention or decision to your practice when you walk in the woods, get on your yoga mat, see your coach or therapist, are in dream time, or journal.

Listen for intuitive answers throughout your day.

Set aside time for stillness and pay attention to the subtle ways of knowing.

“Transformation can be messy, unclear and uncomfortable. We can get too attached if we get fixated on any one aspect of our choice.  We can lose track of our intention to expand our awareness and gain clarity. We can get caught in judgment, excessive rumination, negative thinking and self-talk, and dysfunctional beliefs. Change does not occur without the discomfort and sacrifice of leaving old beliefs, meanings, and habits behind. Transformation takes intentional choice.”
