Your Best Ever Strategy to Stay Calm During Winter Stillness

Winter Stillness

It is a cloudy winter day with no wind and little movement outside my window today. Inside, I feel the calm inner pulse of life throughout my body, mind, and heart.  In the stillness, I can feel, hear and see subtle impulses arising in my awareness.  Creative ideas, intuitive knowing, and the flow if energy between and among the material world seem clearer.  When I relax further into the stillness, it feels like I melt into pure awareness.  I can rest in that space known as the ground of being that contains infinity and eternity.  It is that rich full experience of potential containing All That Is.

How to Stay Calm During Winter Stillness

Your Best Ever Strategy to Stay Calm During Winter Stillness

How do I stay calm during winter stillness and quiet enough to keep my awareness open to these more subtle levels of reality?  I practice quieting my mind-body and paying attention and ultimately the focus itself disappears.  It reminds me of the magic eye picture.  Have you ever seen one?  Check out Magic Eye.  At first, the image appears to be a design of squiggly lines of various colors and patterns.  When you soften and relax the focus of your eyes, a three-dimensional picture comes into view.  If you can keep this perspective, the picture remains.  If you return your eyes to a hard focus, you lose sight of the three-dimensional picture.  When we remain peaceful at winter stillness and present in this moment with all of our attention, we can access the additional layers and dimensions of reality continuously occurring in our midst.

I invite you to take a few extra moments to breathe, relax and just be. Winter is an amazing time to practice stillness and tap into your Center Within!
